Innovation is not always obvious at first glance. It is often hidden in the details, the processes and the technologies that enable the creation of increasingly high-performance products.
This video shows one of the production stages of the JVP 4×4 Air Leakage panel, the raised floor system designed to ensure high airtightness in the underfloor plenum.
From the customer’s requirement to the technological solution
Every innovation stems from a practical need.
Our partners asked us to improve the airtightness of the JVP 4×4 system by minimising air leakage from the plenum and ensuring consistent performance over time.
To meet this requirement, we have developed JVP 4×4 Air Leakage, a solution incorporating a 10 × 3 mm Pivilene perimeter seal applied along the entire edge of the panel to ensure effective sealing.
Automation in the service of quality
Until recently, the seal was applied by hand.
Whilst ensuring high quality standards, this process required a significant amount of repetitive work from the operators.
Even the most experienced operator, however careful and skilled they may be, is subject to the natural variables inherent in repetitive manual work. Automation is not designed to replace this expertise, but to complement it, ensuring a consistent level of precision, uniformity and repeatability on every single panel, regardless of the number of production cycles carried out.
For this reason, JVP has designed and built an automatic machine in-house specifically for applying the seal.
The aim was not simply to automate a process, but to make it even more precise, repeatable and reliable.
Thanks to this technology, it is possible to achieve:
- even application of the seal to each panel;
- high precision throughout the entire production process;
- reduction in potential process variations;
- consistent quality over time;
- greater production efficiency;
- improved working conditions for operators, who supervise and monitor the process.
Certified airtightness
The JVP 4×4 Air Leakage system has undergone laboratory testing by an independent third party.
The results confirm that air leakage levels are well below the required limits up to a pressure of 50 Pa, demonstrating the high effectiveness of the solution developed by JVP.
Proper sealing of the plenum is a key factor in air distribution systems installed beneath raised floors, helping to improve overall system efficiency and reduce air leakage.
Innovation means valuing people
For JVP, innovation does not mean replacing human labour.
It means designing technologies that support people, improve the quality of day-to-day work and enable us to offer our customers increasingly reliable products.
Every investment in research, development and automation stems from this philosophy: putting technology at the service of quality.
Because behind every JVP 4×4 Air Leakage panel lies not just a manufacturing process, but expertise, experience and a constant commitment to ‘Made in Italy’ innovation.
